The Paint on Bed Liner

A paint on bed liner using paint from one of the makers like Herculiner or DupliColor is a way to get a liner like a spray on liner but without the sprayer. Even if you have a sprayer set-up it is a real plus to get to skip the clean-up that is just part of a spray application of paint. The reason you can skip the sprayer with most of these liner paint products is due to the way the paint cures. You can put it on with a brush or roller and then something happens as it dries. What you get with the paint drying is some settling or sagging of the paint. It just so happens that the paint as it dries just slowly settles into the application marks and that has the tricky result. As the paint settles it just fills in all the application marks and they just really disappear and fade away. The resulting finish then looks just like it was sprayed on. That way you can put the bed liner paint on with just about anything and the end result is about the same, the paint looks poured on. It’s tricky but it works.
